Robert lived less than 200 yards from the Jolly Miller & sent me this picture
I’ve had 3 Haigers who mentioned the Jolly Miller just recently – why not show this picture & note in our Potpourri?
I had a job cleaning the ice after the close each night so they could flood the rink. – Carl
Your note has inspired me to share the attached photo, which I would have taken with my new German camera about the time we graduated from EHCI in 1957.

Not only were those who lived on Campbell Crescent, Brookfield Road, Donino, Donwoods and all Valley points east season pass holders and regular skaters on the rink, but a large number of our Willowdale classmates trekked down most Friday and Saturday winter evenings to take a spin, with Al Pratt and others making a futile attempt to stop us from playing tag when there were 400 or more skaters enjoying a turn on the rink.
Please share this with anyone you like, with my good wishes to all for a happy and, at our ages, healthy 2010. Cheers, and all the best. – Bob.
